Celebrating Summer Solstice

The thought of having a long day may seem like a bit of a drag, but having the longest day is something to certainly celebrate! On Friday June 21st, 2019 (11:54 am ET), we will be blessed with the longest day of the year! That means plenty of nurturing sunshine as good old Madame Sun sits directly on top of the Tropic of Cancer. Grab your sunscreen, and get ready to absorb all those nurturing and healing rays of light!

Summer Solstice has been celebrated in many cultures throughout the ages, making it an undeniably sacred and spiritual day. Whether you're celebrating at Stonehenge, your local park, or for the comforts of your own back yard, it's an excellent time to tap into the Sun's bright and powerful energy. It represents the height of polarity with a full day of light in the North pole and a full day of darkness in the South pole, bringing incredible balance to our dear Mother Earth. Known as Litha in Pagan tradition, this holiday is one of the brightest and most spiritual of the year. It represents the maximum illumination of the Sun (or divine masculine), as it reaches its peak strength and begins to lose it's power.

This solstice falls during a period of great change and cleansing, and will be especially potent. Pay attention to the energies and the stimulation that comes from the glorious sunlight and harness it! It's the perfect time to observe all that is in your life and emit gratitude. We've put in a lot of work over the past few months, and its time to sit back, bask in the sunlight, and enjoy what we have accomplished.

Take some time today to sit outside and meditate on the aspects of your life that you are grateful for. Give thanks for those you love, the wonders of our world, the resources that you have, the little things, that which you have learned so far this year. Immerse yourself in the glory of all that you have. Visualize a better and brighter world, and send your powerful, bright energy down back into it!

Take a moment to appreciate and honour yourself! What are your talents and accomplishments? Give yourself a pat on the back for what you have achieved, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Give yourself the credit you deserve and recite those affirmations! Today is about nurturing and honouring yourself too!

As we head into eclipse season, it is important to set the grounds for that which we will change and how we will grow. Change is coming at a quicker rate than you can imagine and we have potent power to manifest positive change. Look back on where you've been, where you are, and where you're headed. What do you want to bring to action? How can you honour your higher self? Give thanks for everything you've experienced thus far. View negatives as positive learning experiences, and allow yourself to blossom and bloom. Life is an adventure full of twists and turns, go with the flow and be (like the Sun) a beacon of light illuminating your own path. Reflect on the past and let it go, look forward toward your blank slate. You are a being of freewill and your path is an open road. Let the Sun melt any blockages you may have. Let its light guide the way and enjoy the extra sunlight today!
